How it all began…

My title – reluctant firefly – started as a nod to the nickname of my main character in a novel I am writing. Blogging turned it into something unexpected. It took me a while to figure it out, but this blog is me trying to shine my light for Jesus by showing how Christ has been working in my world. Am I a preacher? No. I’m just this church lady with memories and stories, and a very tattered Bible. I’ve taught Sunday school and children’s church, and even written some puppet scripts in my time. So, let me tell you a story or two. Like the time a car fell on my brother Jon, or Grandpa’s run in with some cannibals, or why I wear funny hats to work. It’s amazing where you can see God working.
